Job Description

Port 51 Lending LLC (“Port 51”) is a nationwide non-bank SBA lender.  Port 51 is seeking exceptional candidates to join our growing team! Our SBA Business Development Associate (“BDA”) will assist the Business Development Officers (“BDO’s”) to identify, solicit, and close new SBA loans through their robust business development activity.   The BDA will support new business development, quality loan submissions, and all aspects of deal flow.  This job can be remote or in-person in our NYC of Indianapolis, Indiana offices. 

• Assist the BDO’s in developing and implementing unique sales approaches that support our small business lending activity.
• Demonstrate strong time management, planning, and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently and remotely and support up to 4 BDO’s. 
• Obtain third party reports for new loan submissions.  
• Apply state of the art technology to support best-in-class customer service.
• Help conduct business development activities to meet business and individual funding goals.
• Assist the BDO’s in building and maintaining a network of referral sources able to bring potential SBA borrowers to our company. Referral sources will include realtors, CPAs, attorneys, mortgage brokers, business brokers, bankers, franchises, etc.
• Obtain and prepare required application/financial information from borrowers to facilitate underwriting and closing along with appropriately executed documentation.
• Maintain a working knowledge of requirements for documentation and regulations relating to SBA 7(a) lending.
• Represent Exos with honesty and integrity while delivering high levels of customer service in all interactions.

Job Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or other related experience
• Minimum 1-2 years SBA 7(a) in business development experience
• Familiarity with SBA 7(a) loan processes, specifically loan production
• Ability to execute complete package submissions.  
• Ability to protect and maintain confidential information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency with computers and related software
