Cozad Community Schools is accepting applications for a Director of Special Education. Cozad is a Class C-1 School District, and our Special Education Department supports students from birth to age 21. We are deeply committed to the MTSS process and are looking for candidates to help lead and grow our systems district-wide.

Applicants should possess a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with the appropriate administrative endorsement . Cozad Community Schools is located between Kearney and North Platte along Interstate 80. We offer a competitive salary and full-family insurance benefits. Duties include:
Oversee and lead the implementation and development of our process to support all learners who need an individualized education plan.
Support and develop general education staff to effectively educate students on an individual education plan.
Be an active member of our administrative team, and provide insight and leadership to better our process in the district.
Lead and guide our special education certified and support staff, placing them in positions to effectively support and grow our students with special needs.
Attend MDT/IEP meetings for students as the district administrator.
Serve the district as the Preschool Principal for 2025-2026.
Serve the district as one of the PreK-5 Assistant Principals when renovations are complete in August 2025.
Partner in developing and improving our district-wide MTSS process through strong leadership, support, and guidance.
