Are you passionate about workplace equity, inclusion, and integrity? The California Energy Commission is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Associate Governmental Program Analyst to take on a dynamic role as our Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator !

In this impactful role, you’ll work directly with the EEO Officer to uphold our commitment to fair and respectful workplace practices. You’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding employee rights, preventing discrimination and harassment, and fostering a culture of accountability and inclusivity.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct thorough, confidential internal investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, and workplace violence.
  • Recommend smart, strategic changes to improve personnel practices and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and Commission policies.
  • Track case intakes and maintain organized investigation logs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Disability Advisory Committee — coordinating initiatives and acting as liaison with executive leadership.
  • Drive professional development by leading the Upward Mobility Program .
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to staff on EEO processes, workplace violence prevention, and more.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division.

  2. Knowledge of the EEO complaint, investigation, and resolution process.
  3. Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality with tact and diplomacy.
  4. Ability to act independently, take initiative, and follow projects through to completion.
