Job Title: Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid: 3 days in office)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer to lead our team in Seattle. This role demands a strong leader with deep technical expertise in infrastructure automation, cloud technologies, and application performance. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our critical systems, driving best practices, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of SRE/DevOps engineers.
• Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable infrastructure using Terraform and Chef.
• Manage and optimize F5 load balancers for application traffic management.
• Oversee the deployment and management of applications in VMware Windows and Linux environments.
• Automate infrastructure and application deployments using PowerShell, Bash, Shell, and TypeScript.
• Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters in Azure.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of Java microservices.
• Manage and optimize NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Implement and manage Kafka for message streaming.
• Perform in-depth log analysis to troubleshoot memory and garbage collection issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure and application performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployments.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in SRE/DevOps engineering, with a proven track record of leadership.
• Expertise in Terraform and Chef (critical requirement).
• Strong experience with F5 load balancers (critical requirement).
• Proficiency in managing VMware Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Shell, and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Java microservices architecture.
• Expertise in NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Experience with Kafka.
• Strong understanding of memory management and garbage collection, with the ability to analyze logs for troubleshooting.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment
