JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics with key financial decisions and serve as a member of the athletic department leadership team. Responsibilities will include providing daily operations management for the athletic business office including the oversight of the business office staff; oversee all finance and business activities including strategic and long-range financial planning, budgeting, reporting, purchasing, and travel; serve as the primary liaison to the University?s Office of Budget and Financial Planning, and the University Business Services; and the UConn Foundation staff on all transactions within athletics foundation accounts; oversee the annual budget process for the athletic department including developing revenue/expense projections in collaboration with University. This position will manage and oversee the functions of the business office including the completion of audited financial statements; compiling monthly financial statements; assisting with open records requests as needed; reviewing and processing game contracts; assisting with internal audits; coordinating procurement solicitations with the University Procurement Department and contract review with the University?s Legal Counsel. This position will manage the department?s relationship with the department?s travel agency. This position will be responsible for the development and communication of policies and procedures as well as identifying fiscal efficiencies. This position is also responsible for oversight of all departmental expenditures, deposits, and authorizations for expenditures, including reimbursements, travel authorizations and advances, payroll, purchase requisitions, etc. and the performance of additional duties as requested.
