Position Summary: The Senior Economist, Global Indicators & Labor Markets will lead The Conference Board’s flagship global indicators program while also overseeing The Conference Board’s Labor Market Institute (LMI). This is a high-visibility, Member-facing role requiring comfort interacting with a C-suite audience, deep technical and analytical expertise, and strong communication skills to deliver trusted insights on global macroeconomic and labor market trends. The ideal candidate will manage and produce The Conference Board’s proprietary global leading, current, and lagging indicators; direct development of derivative data tools including recession probability and tracking models; and oversee the US CEO and Consumer Confidence indexes. In parallel, the Senior Economist will lead the LMI, advancing research on labor dynamics, employment trends, and workforce implications for global business performance. This role serves as both an intellectual leader and a spokesperson for The Conference Board’s economic insights, representing the organization through media appearances, publications, and Member briefings. Thought leadership focus includes topics critical to indicators production, deep understanding of the US labor market, and broad knowledge of global labor trends. The Senior Economist will serve as a core member of the Chief Economist’s leadership team, and manage a team of economists and analysts.
