Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Manager plans, designs, and assists in the implementation/delivery of training programs designed to orient staff and to improve job performance and required skills within the Company. The position monitors and assesses employee training and assists supervisors to ensure that employees meet and maintain the minimum training requirements of the Company. Performs under the guidance and direction of the Repair Station Accountable Manager to ensure FAA and other regulatory training requirements are satisfied.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Design, deliver/facilitate training programs based on developmental needs to ensure regulatory compliance 

• Ensure all training content is audience-appropriate and developed, and facilitated in accordance with best practices 

• Identify professional development opportunities appropriate for various types and levels of positions 

• Recommend external vendors and programs to meet the various needs of Company staff. 

• Determine when customized content is necessary and tailor training material 

• Work on special projects, key training initiatives and other assignments in partnership with the Quality team and the FAA 

• Regularly audit areas of responsibility to ensure approved processes are followed and regulatory requirements are met 

• Manage manual and electronic training record systems 

• Efficiently process new employees through a new hire training program 

• Ensure the application of standard processes aimed at reducing and eliminating errors 

• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5 plus years of experience in training management or instruction, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in aviation-related maintenance, repair and overhaul function is preferred.

Computer Skills: Thorough understanding of MS Office applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

Certifications & Licenses: FAA Airframe Mechanic Certificate a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily in an office environment with frequent visits to shop floor.
