Medica l Administration:
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, observing f or side effects or reactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient rec or ds.
Co l l ab o r ate with phy sic ians, surgeons, and other hea l thcare providers to co or dinate patient care p l ans.
Prepare patients f or surgica l procedures and ensure pr ope r recovery after surgery.
Monit or ing and Rep or ting:
Observe patients’ responses to treatments, changes in symptoms, and comp l ications.
Rep or t any significant changes in patient conditions to phy sic ians or seni or nurses.
Maintain know l edge of patient charts and documentation acc or ding to hospita l po l icy.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their fami l ies on hea l th conditions, treatment p l ans, and recovery processes.
Provide guidance on home care, medication regimens, and l ifesty l e modifications.
Infection Contro l and Safety:
Adhere to strict infection contro l protoco l s.
Monit or patients f or signs of infection, part icu l ar l y after surgery.
Ensure the safety and comf or t of patients during their hospita l stay.
Team Co l l ab o r ation:
W or k as part of a mu l tidiscip l inary hea l thcare team, which may inc l ude doct or s, phy sic a l therapists, and other nurses.
Participate in shift handoffs and communicate effective l y with other team members about patient needs and status.
Emergency Response:
Respond appropriate l y to medica l emergencies, inc l uding assisting in l ife-saving procedures when required .
Use critica l thinking ski l l s to assess and react to changes in patient status.
Qua l ifications and Requirements:
Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bache l or of Science in Nursing (BSN).
L icensure: Va l id state RN l icense.
Certifications: B L S (Ba sic L ife Supp or t) and AC L S (Advanced Cardiovascu l ar L ife Supp or t) may be required .
Experience: Previous experience in a medica l -surgica l unit is often preferred.
Ski l l s: Strong c l inica l assessment ski l l s, abi l ity to w or k in a fast-paced environment, exce l l ent communication, and interpersona l ski l l s.
W or k Environment:
W or k is typica l l y perf or med in hospita l settings such as medica l -surgica l units, post- ope rative recovery units, or step-down units.
Nurses may be required to w or k nights, weekends, and ho l idays, depending on the hospita l 's staffing needs.
The job may invo l ve standing f or extended periods, l ifting patients, and other phy sic a l demands.
