Position: Senior Accountant

Reports To: Controller/Vice President

Job Description

The Senior Accountant will be responsible maintaining the books for a fast-paced healthcare start-up. This individual will interface with the Controller and other Managers and Directors of the Company on a day-to-day basis and will be heavily involved in accounting, research, bookkeeping, and ad-hoc reporting projects. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Assist with month end and quarter end close process
• Perform ad-hoc reporting for accounting and finance team
• Update roll-forwards for multiple balance sheet accounts
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Create fixed asset and depreciation schedules
• Assist with budgeting and budget reconciliations
• Validate expenses and maintain an amortization schedules

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years bookkeeping or accounting experience
• 4-year degree is preferred
• Intimate knowledge of QuickBooks; certification preferred
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Interest in working in a high-performing environment that requires the ability to multi-task and think creatively
• Working knowledge of double entry bookkeeping is required;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
